The kick-off meeting of the European Erasmus+ OUT-DOOR project took place at the Lodz University of Technology, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automation in mid-January, January 16 - 17, 2024. The project kick-off meeting was attended by partners from Spain (University of Vigo and the training and education company FEMXA), Portugal (University of the Azores), Lithuania (Kaunsa Technical University which is also in the ECIU consortium) and from southern Italy (University of Salento ). The guests were received by an interdisciplinary team of research and teaching staff from two faculties - the Faculty of Electrical, Electronics, Computer and Control Engineering (Anna Laska-Leśniewicz, PhD, and Katarzyna Znajdek, PhD, DSc) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Aleksandra Jastrzębska, PhD, and Krzysztof Jastrzębski, PhD). The project was officially launched by Vice-Rector Andrzej Romanowski.

The meeting agenda was very rich, starting from sessions devoted to the project goals, work packages, planned events and activities, through the presentation of two campuses of the Lodz University of Technology and selected spaces for creative work, to a short tour around Lodz.

Project entitled “Blended outdoor learning for fostering the employability of newly graduates” received funding in the amount of EUR 400,000 and will be implemented for 3 years in a consortium coordinated by the Lodz University of Technology, the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems. As part of the project, a training program will be developed based on the so-called "outdoor learning" methodologies. The project aims to develop soft skills, build self-esteem and strengthen students' attitude towards managing their professional career. The consortium started working on a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) educational platform that is based on three European competence frameworks: DigComp (European Framework for Digital Competences), LifeComp (European Framework for Key Personal, Social and Learning Skills Competences) and GreenComp (European Sustainability Competence Framework). The first effects of international cooperation will be visible soon.
